If you’re seeing duplicate entries in your timeline or documents tab, don’t worry — the issue is usually related to user syncing, re-uploads, or shared editing. Here’s how to clean up duplicates and prevent them going forward.
1. Check for Re-Uploads
- If you or a shared user uploaded the same file twice (e.g., from mobile and desktop), it may appear with slightly different timestamps.
- Compare filenames, upload dates, and tags to verify duplication.
2. Confirm Who Made the Entry
- Each timeline event or document shows the name of the user who created it.
- Two users may have logged the same event without realizing it — with slightly different titles or files.
3. Clear Your Filters
- Filters can sometimes show overlapping results if “All Issues” is selected.
- Try selecting just one issue type at a time to reduce visual duplication.
4. Use the Merge or Archive Option
- Splitifi allows you to archive redundant documents or mark timeline entries as duplicates using the context menu.
- This keeps your record clean without deleting anything permanently.
Prevent Future Duplication
- Before uploading, check if the file is already in your case under another name.
- Communicate with shared users to avoid double-logging the same event from different perspectives.
If you’re unsure about which version to keep, flag the entries and our Support Team can help reconcile them cleanly.
