Who Owns What: Your Data, Your Rights
Splitifi believes your data belongs to you. This policy defines the boundaries of ownership between users and the platform, outlining who controls, accesses, and has rights to the information shared or generated within Splitifi.

This Data Ownership Policy sets forth the principles that govern data shared with and created by the Splitifi platform. We believe transparency and user control are central to our legal-tech mission.
1. User-Submitted Data
All data that you upload to Splitifi—including documents, messages, financial disclosures, timelines, and notes—remains your property. You retain full ownership of the content you provide.
2. Platform-Generated Data
Splitifi may generate derivative insights based on your input (e.g., motion timelines, case progress, predictive alerts). While Splitifi owns the system that creates these outputs, you retain the right to view, export, or delete them at any time.
3. Shared Data
When data is shared with attorneys, co-parents, mediators, or court personnel through Splitifi’s systems, the original user retains data ownership. All access is logged, permissioned, and revocable.
4. Revoking Access
As a user, you may revoke data-sharing permissions at any time from your account settings. Revoked access removes future visibility but does not delete previously downloaded content by authorized parties.
5. Data Used for Product Improvement
Aggregate, anonymized data may be used to improve Splitifi’s tools. No personally identifiable information (PII), legal documents, or financial figures are included in model training or analytics unless users explicitly opt in.
6. Legal Requests and Disclosure
Splitifi will not disclose your data unless compelled by lawful court order or subpoena. If disclosure is legally required, we will notify the user unless prohibited by law.
7. Data Transfer and Portability
You may export your entire case file or personal profile in human-readable and machine-readable formats. Splitifi supports PDF, CSV, JSON, and ZIP export formats.
8. Account Deletion
Upon account deletion, all personally controlled data is purged from active systems. Residual data from automatic backups will be purged within 30 business days, unless a legal retention policy applies.
