If your dashboard tools or layout don’t match your expected role — for example, if you’re a professional seeing a litigant view — the issue is likely related to profile setup, role approval, or shared case permissions. Here’s how to correct it quickly.
1. Confirm Your Role in Account Settings
- Click your profile icon and select Account Settings.
- Go to the Role & Access tab.
- Your current system role will be displayed (Litigant, Attorney, Mediator, Judge, Forensic Expert, etc.).
2. If the Role Is Wrong, Submit a Role Change Request
- In the same tab, click Request Role Change.
- Select the correct role from the dropdown and briefly describe the reason.
- All changes are reviewed within 24 hours to protect access integrity and data visibility.
3. Shared Case View vs. Global Role
- If you’ve been invited into someone else’s case, you may be viewing it from their permissions — not your full role.
- Exit the shared case and go back to your dashboard to see your own tools and role-specific features.
4. Check for Onboarding Completion
- Some role-based tools (especially for professionals) only appear after completing onboarding steps.
- If you skipped setup questions, go back to the Onboarding Wizard to unlock your full feature set.
