My Motion Won’t Save — What Now?

If you’re trying to log a motion in Splitifi and it won’t save, it usually comes down to missing required fields, session timeout, or file formatting. Here’s how to quickly identify the issue and resolve it without losing your progress.

1. Confirm All Required Fields Are Filled

  • You must enter the motion type, filing date, and motion status (e.g., filed, granted, denied).
  • If uploading a supporting document, ensure the file finishes processing before clicking Save.

2. Check for Session Timeout

  • If you’ve been idle on the dashboard for over 30 minutes, your session may have expired.
  • Copy your entry details, refresh the page, and log back in before trying again.

3. Look for File Format Conflicts

  • Only supported file types will be accepted (PDF, DOC, JPG, PNG).
  • Unsupported formats like .pages or .zip may prevent the motion from saving entirely.

4. Avoid Special Characters in File Names

  • Characters like “/”, “#”, “&”, or emojis in your file name may block uploads or create save errors.
  • Rename files with clean formatting like “Contempt_Motion_April2025.pdf”
